Miley Cyrus’ ever disappearing/reappearing engagement ring guessing game just got a little more confusing.

Despite still living together in the same house, Life & Style has learned that Miley, 20, and fiancé Liam Hemsworth, 23, are sleeping in separate bedrooms.

“[Miley] stays in the master bedroom and Liam stays in one of the guest rooms,” a source close to Miley tells the new issue of Life & Style, of the couple’s living arrangements at her Toluca Lake mansion, adding, “Sometimes she'll even stay at her parents', which is across the street, with her sister or mom so she doesn't feel alone.”

Though she recently flaunted her 3.5-carat Neil Lane engagement ring on Twitter on May 14, the source explains that “the two know it’s over…but aren't ready to announce it.”

"Based on the news that The Originals is shooting a new pilot for the fall, we imagine we’ll be seeing a lot more of Davina (Danielle Campbell) in the new show’s first episode.

Though Davina had some scenes in the backdoor pilot — which aired as part of The Vampire Diaries Season 4 — they were cut. "She would be too much of a cliffhanger for the show," Danielle Campbell told Wetpaint Entertainment at the CW Upfronts.

So what can we expect from this mystery girl come fall? It sounds like both Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) want Davina on their side when it comes to their fight over who will control New Orleans. Danielle explains, "She is a very powerful witch who gets stuck in the power struggle. So it’s going to be very exciting. There’s a lot of surprises with her."

It sounds like Davina hasn’t picked a side yet, because Danielle adds, “You’re gonna see her character grow a lot.”

So what makes this magical miss such a hot commodity? "She’s a witch who has a lot of power, more than is good for her," Danielle tells TVFanatic.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Davina has a dark side. Her guardians attempted to protect her from the outside world, but she’s captivated by New Orleans."

Destiny Hope “Smiley” Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992. Hannah Montana, and her regular-girl alter ego Miley Stewart, were born eight and a half years later, in March 2006. But the Miley Cyrus we know today wasn’t really born until December 10, 2010, when the tabloid site TMZ posted a potentially career-ending video of the Disney kid at her 18th birthday, smoking something (salvia, according to Miley) from a bong. It was supposed to be shocking, but the only shocking part was how normal the whole episode was.

Watching the clip now, it’s annoying in the way anyone else’s home movies are. But while the specific activity depicted may have been illegal (laws regarding salvia vary depending on state and country) and/or dangerous (see Amy Rose’s drug primer), it’s also kind of mesmerizing in its silly, commonplace immaturity and relative innocence. It’s like any goofy high-school party: Bad ’90s alt-rock is playing in the background (Bush’s “Comedown,” just to eradicate all subtlety), and the boys outside of the frame are instructing Miley how to smoke, whether she needs their help or not, as boys tend to do. She inhales, coughs, makes a face, and performs the act of feeling something. Then she sees a guy who she thinks resembles her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth: “He looks so much like Liam! Is that me tripping?” Then she devolves into a giggle-fit, grabs for some Frosted Flakes, and growls mangled Nicki Minaj lyrics.

This is what I love about Miley Cyrus, and what makes her stand out among a generation of former child stars trying to grow up in the public eye: She insists on doing standard kid stuff, even as millions of people watch, judge, criticize, and assign meaning to her every move—and it isn’t some tragic story. She doesn’t seem like a victim or a cautionary tale. She’s just…Miley. While Britney, Lindsay, and Amanda leaned into their extended breakdowns and let their struggles surpass their art, Miley tiptoed to the line, did a little dance on it, and then got back to work, both as a performer and as a teenager.

There were always signs she could pull off this balancing act. The daughter of “Achy Breaky Heart” singer Billy Ray Cyrus and a goddaughter of the legendarily self-assured Dolly Parton, Miley saved her father from one-hit-wonderdom before she hit puberty. They had their father-daughter bumps along the way, with Dad doing more than his share of the acting out by participating in this pathetic GQ story, but they seemed to work things out and now banter back and forth on Twitter. Inside the machine, she excelled: She was a ball of charm and energy on her Disney Channel hit Hannah Montana and its various soundtracks and movies. And her early singles pretty much rule: There’s the faux-’80s catchiness of her first hit, “See You Again,” and the country-pop outrage of “7 Things.” Even the schlocky “The Climb” still sounds uplifting while perusing the candy aisle at the grocery store. And the genius of “Party in the U.S.A.” speaks for itself.



Like all teenagers, Miley excels at sly subversion. On tour in 2011, she started covering Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” to the consternation of rock snobs everywhere. Around the same time she took to wearing an oversize Kurt Cobain T-shirt as a dress on errand runs. But Miley’s affection for Kurt, aside from just enjoying his music, doesn’t actually seem so crazy. Kurt was friendly with Miley’s dad, and I’m sure she found plenty to relate to in his music and his life. In his suicide note, Kurt wrote, “The fact is, I can’t fool you, any one of you. It simply isn’t fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I’m having 100% fun.” Miley presumably learned in her Disney days what it was to feel like an industry puppet with a painted-on smile.



She got political at the end of 2011, releasing a remix of her song “Liberty Walk” in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement and recording a surprisingly poignant cover of Bob Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” for Amnesty International. On Twitter, she spoke out for immigration reform and body acceptance, and she got a tattoo to show her support for marriage equality. It’s not all perfect—she comes from a privileged place and might not always grasp her innate advantages, like for instance when she overuses hip-hop slang like ratchet—but no teenage experiment is.

More important, she branches out with confidence.“Just recorded a banger,” she tweeted the other day, hyping her new album, which at one pointed was rumored to be titled Reborn. She’s seen doing what may very well be drugs at clubs, but there’s no rehab or paparazzi beatdowns, just dancing. Her relationship with Hemsworth seems bumpy, but there have been no public scandals. She’s the most public kind of person you can think of, and yet a lot of her business is private. That’s a tricky thing to pull off.

Over the years her look has gone from popular-girl flat-ironed highlights and preppy outfits to experimenting with some California hippie costumes before easing into an early-20s DGAF collection, reserving classy dresses for the red carpet. Recent sartorial highlights include a big “Sex, Drugs, and Rap” T-shirt with a snapback, short-shorts, and stilettos, and a “Treat Your Girl Right” crop-top hoodie, along with an out-there Met Ball success. Above all, though, is the hair, which she chopped off and bleached last year, in a radical, celebratory move that didn’t feel like a desperate grab for attention, but rather as that thing that girls do at least once when they’re young and bored.



What I love most about Miley, though, is her sense of humor. Last month she uploaded to her Facebook page fake-grainy footage of a mysterious figure twerking in a unicorn onesie. The clip collected more than 57,000 “likes” and millions of YouTube views, catapulting a year-old song—not her own—onto the charts. At the end, the figure—whose body is entirely cloaked in costume, effectively desexualizing a dance that’s by its very nature suggestive—removes the hood to reveal it’s Miley just being Miley, with her fresh blonde ’do and a big smile. She can’t help being a star, but she’s going to screw with people’s expectations.

Or sometimes, she won’t. On April 16, the day after taxes were due in the United States, the 20-year-old took to her Twitter account and, without shame, sent her father a message: “@billyraycyrus just found out you’ve been paying for my wifi and phone bill for the past year. Thanks dad!” Anyone still trying to grow up can relate.

Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers will be helping to distribute supplies with Convoy of Hope, an organization he and brothers Nick and Kevin have been affiliated with since 2009. In addition, Jonas will be helping debris removal crews throughout the day. The Jonas Brothers’ Change For the Children Foundation has awarded several grants to Convoy of Hope to support children’s  initiatives around the world over the last four years.

Every bit of effort helps, and we appreciate when these performers come and put an effort toward making people’s lives better, whether it is through performing at benefit shows or boots-on-the-ground relief efforts.

Background (if you are curious): Electric Run is a 5k run that takes place at night to the sights and sounds of an amazing world created by stage designers from Coachella, Dreamworks animators and other talented artists. With one million watts of light and a sound system that will transform the 5k course into an electric wonderland, participants run with glow sticks, LEDs and anything else their imagination can conjure up that glows in the dark!

The Electric Run race track features distinct lighting experiences with different moods and elements. Some are fast paced and energetic, while others are more ethereal. Each event is unique, but some of the experiences you can look forward to are: glowing neon trees changing colors to match the music, tunnels with dancing patterns and figures on the walls, ceilings, and floors, lakes and rivers glowing in other-worldly hues, tunnels of light created by a rainbow or lasers, glowing arches and columns, Neon saguaro cactus, Red rock cliffs glowing in psychedelic colors and patterns, glowing arches changing color in tempo, colored fountains dancing to the beat, and an entire buildings lit so brightly that they can be seen from space.

"Before achieving back-to-back radio hits with "Give Your Heart a Break" and "Heart Attack," Demi Lovato wondered why she had yet to find her breakthrough on the radio.

She knew she had a big voice, and had found success as a Disney Channel star, but something was off.

"I had a moment where I was just like, 'What am I doing wrong? I know I can sing. I know I'm talented. How is it that other artists who don't have my vocals ... (are) on the radio? What's taking so long?'" she said in a recent interview."And I realized, 'Oh, it's hit songs. You need hit songs.'"

So, Lovato went into the studio and recorded songs crafted perfectly for Top 40 radio. "Demi," her fourth album, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week. It features upbeat, radio-friendly dance numbers and pop ballads about love and relationships.


"We didn't want to put a song on there that was an album filler, so we don't have any songs on there that couldn't be potential singles," the 20-year-old Lovato said of "Demi," which features producers and songwriters like Ryan Tedder (Adele, Beyonce), Priscilla Renea (Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Madonna), and Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub and Savan Kotecha, the trio behind hits for One Direction. (Falk and Yacoub co-produced Nicki Minaj's "Starships" and Kotecha co-wrote Maroon 5's "One More Night" and Justin Bieber's "Beauty and a Beat.")

Lovato got her first real hint of radio love when "Give Your Heart a Break" became a hit last year as she was appearing as a judge on the Fox network's "The X Factor." The song was from her 2011 album, "Unbroken," released months after she left rehab for an eating disorder, self-mutilation and other issues. Though she had a Top 10 hit with "Skyscraper," the first single, "Give Your Heart a Break," became her breakthrough, selling 1.9 million tracks.

"It was kind of like her coming-out party as a singer," said Sharon Dastur, program director for New York City's pop radio station Z100.

Lovato quickly went into the studio to record her new album, releasing the in-your-face pop jam "Heart Attack," which is platinum and has so far peaked at No. 10 on the Hot 100.

"I think there's going to be a lot of radio singles, a lot of hits," said Dastur, naming songs like "Without the Love," "Neon Lights" and "Really Don't Care" as potential smashes. "And I almost think (the ballad) 'Warrior' could be like a Grammy-nominated song. It's that powerful."

Lovato, who co-wrote most of the songs, said she looked to Kelly Clarkson as inspiration when creating the album.

"A lot of the power vocalists ... they get the respect, but they don't get the recognition with hit songs that they deserve to have, and a lot of pop artists are very talented, but they don't have the vocal capability to really carry on those power ballads," she said. "(Kelly) has that ability to wow you and also get the sound stuck in your head."

Lovato, who starred in the Disney Channel movie "Camp Rock" and the TV series "Sonny With a Chance," said becoming a radio artist has been a top goal.

"All I've ever wanted was my music to be heard and for people to enjoy it," she said.

Her 2008 studio album debut, "Don't Forget," achieved gold status. Her albums that followed - 2009's "Here We Go Again" and 2011's "Unbroken" - have sold 487,000 and 459,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Lovato said releasing "Unbroken" was a learning process because the album didn't represent her true self.

"I just had come out of rehab ... and I was trying to figure out who I was," she said. "Sometimes I can confuse what I like listening to with what I am, and I think that's what I did on that album. I was listening to a lot of R&B stuff that was on the radio and instead of creating my own style, I kind of subconsciously fell into creating someone else's album, and therefore when you hear it, it didn't make a lot of sense."

Dastur said being on "The X Factor" has helped Lovato step out of the Disney persona that has trapped others. Lovato, too, is thankful for what the show has done for her career.

"It doesn't hurt when you're releasing music and you're in millions of people's homes every week - twice a week," said Lovato, who will be joined by Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio when the singing competition series returns in the fall. "'X Factor' has helped me make that transition from being the Disney pop singer ... to the mainstream world.""

"Making sure to keep her body in shape, even on a long weekend, Vanessa Hudgens showed up for Pilates class in Studio City on Saturday (May 25).

Clad in black-and-white workout tights and a black tank top, the “Spring Breakers” sweetie kept her concentration on her phone as she headed out post sweat session.

On Friday evening, the 24-year-old Californian kicked off the 2013 Electric Run L.A. at the Home Depot Center to raise money for Smile Train.

"Miley Cyrus‘ musical revolution seems to be coming full circle from a sugary-sweet pop princess to a hip-hop and reggae influenced bad girl. The ‘Party in the U.S.A.’ singer is featured on Mike WiLL Made It’s upcoming track ’23′ along with Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J.

The Atlanta rapper and producer must have called in a favor from Miley to add a certain X-factor to his track, seeing as he has the production credit on her upcoming and highly anticipated single ‘We Can’t Stop.’ The track ’23,’ will likely pay homage to Michael Jordan as the cover art shows the Hall of Fame basketball player’s numbers in white over a red mesh background colored a similar shade of the Chicago Bulls uniforms.



In other Miley news, there is still speculation surrounding her engagement with Liam Hemsworth. Despite reports that they were sleeping in different bedrooms in their home (who would even know something like that?), it seem as though they are still together and still in love. According to Us Weekly, Cyrus was reportedly kissin’ on her fiance at a party at her house and a fellow guest said, “They were definitely back on.”

Unfortunately, not all of Miley’s friends are convinced of the everlasting nature of this relationship. One reportedly said, “They break up, get back together, repeat. They will eventually burn out.” Well, such is life. Everyone has those relationships that just don’t seem to go away."

The 16-year-old actress joined good friend Trevor Jackson on the show, which aired on Friday, May 24th.

“I was devastated [when she didn't win],” Trevor recently dished to J-14 about Zendaya coming in 2nd on DWTS.

He added, “I saw her yesterday… She’s alright, she’s doing good. But she was devastated too, you know. She worked very, very hard. Every day, like six or seven hours a day she was rehearsing.”"

After seeing Angus break into his high-tech security, Zoltan Grundy discovers the ANT Farm and, after Skidmore pretends that the can't pay for a good ANT Farm, builds an ANT Boarding School. All of the ANTs are excited to go to the Boarding School, but after Chyna fails to get in due to Zoltan picking another Musical Prodigy (Lexi), Olive and Fletcher attempt to help her prove to Zoltan that she belongs. Meanwhile, Lexi throws a party celebrating the boarding school, but Angus, Kennedy, and the other ANTs, prefer to study than to have fun.

"The cast of Baby Daddy shows off their own mirrored-ball trophy in this exclusive pic while taping their appearance on Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family on Friday afternoon (May 24).

Stars Melissa Peterman, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Tahj Mowry, Chelsea Kane and Derek Theler stopped by to chat about their show, which returns this coming Wednesday, May 29th on ABC Family.

The quintet got their hands messy in the kitchen after challenging hosts Mark Steines and Cristina Ferrare and and crew in a dance-off.
